Vital Care Appeal

Every day, our teams work tirelessly to provide expert end of life care for patients and support for their families. But right now, we're facing huge financial challenges.

Will you give today and help protect vital hospice care?

Prices have been rising fast over the last few years. The cost of medical care is climbing. The price of food, petrol and energy to power our equipment has rocketed. The hardest part is that more people than ever need our care.

What could your support do?

£30 could pay for a visit from one of our community nurses.

£60 could pay for a Physiotherapy session to help a patient manage their mobility.

£120 could pay for 2 bereavement counselling sessions, supporting a family who has recently lost a loved one.

The hospice has been here for our community for over 40 years. We want to say we always will be. But right now, we need you.

Why help fund vital hospice care

  • Financial strain: our funding is scarce, and we are facing what could be our most challenging year yet.
  • Growing demand: Every year, the demand for our services increases, stretching our resources even further.
  • Funding gap: we receive only a fraction of our operating costs from the NHS, leaving a significant gap we need to fill.

Donate now and make a difference.

By donating today, you'll help us:

  • Ensure that every patient receives the care and support they need during their final days.
  • Bridge the funding gap and keep our doors open for those in need, preventing any interruptions to our essential services.
  • Provide peace of mind to patients and their families, knowing that they have access to high-quality, compassionate care when they need it most.

It’s never been more important to support Glasgow's Hospice.

Kirsty's Story

Kirsty’s father Robert was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease about ten years ago. Kirsty became a young carer for her beloved father. When Robert’s condition worsened, he came to the hospice for specialist care. Kirsty says: “Dad was in the IPU for about a week where he just received the very best care you could imagine. We got to spend as much time with him as we could, and we even got to bring our dogs in for a visit.

“We spent quality time with Dad, listening to his favourite music and had the peace to enjoy our time together. When he was nearing the end of his life, we all stayed over at the hospice in the family rooms so we could be close. And then after he died, we got to spend a few hours with him, again listening to his favourite music. We had as much time as we needed to say goodbye.”

However, following her dad’s death, Kirsty found herself struggling with her grief and even considered dropping out of her university nursing degree course. “I was at breaking point and had gone to the doctors who offered me medication, but I didn’t want to take it, explains Kirsty. “It wasn’t the help I needed. So, I emailed the hospice and their Family Support Service got in touch and I have to say it changed my life. The support I got helped me feel stronger and make sense of everything. I am so happy I continued at University; I just don’t think I would have got here without the hospice.”

Your donation will directly help people like Kirsty to live the best life they can.
