Can anyone volunteer?
We encourage anyone to apply to volunteer at the hospice. We look for a variety of people from all backgrounds with different skills and talents.
In particular we encourage people to apply if they have a real desire to help the hospice and who will contribute to making the patient and family experience the best it can be.

Does having a criminal record affect my volunteer application
The hospice processes disclosure Scotland checks for all roles within the hospice. You will be asked if you have criminal record as part of our application process. Please be honest with us, as it does not automatically disqualify you from volunteering, but it is important that we discuss this in full to assess your suitability for volunteering with us.

We do look for a certain amount of commitment from our volunteers. Normally volunteer shifts are between two and three hours once a week, once a fortnight or once a month. But come in and have a discussion with us about your time limits and we will see how best we can make use of your skills and time.
