 The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity located within Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Shop Supervisor to help lead our exciting new retail store in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. This is more than just a retail role. It's an opportunity to inspire volunteers, delight customers, and drive sales that directly support outstanding hospice care for local patients and their families.

About the Role

As Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager in delivering a successful retail operation, maximising sales, maintaining high presentation standards, and leading a team of dedicated volunteers. You will help create a welcoming environment for customers and donors while ensuring the shop operates efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the achievement of sales and profit targets.
  • Supervising daily shop operations and volunteer teams.
  • Maintaining high standards of merchandising, stock presentation and housekeeping.
  • Assisting with volunteer recruitment, training and support.
  • Managing donated goods, pricing and stock rotation.
  • Following cash handling, banking and retail procedures.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to customers and donors.
  • Promoting the Hospice and its work within the local community.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous retail experience.
  • Experience of supervising or managing a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong customer focus.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • The ability to motivate and support volunteers.
  • General computer literacy.
