Assistant Management Accountant

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week over 4 or 5 days
Salary: £29,597 - £32,629 per annum with potential study support
Who are we? We’re The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice. We’re a well-established charity located at 20 Dumbreck Road, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow G41 5BW. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.
About the role:
This role will support the finance team in the production of accurate and timely financial information, including monthly management accounts, budget monitoring, and financial analysis. The position is integral to maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring the organisation continues to meet its charitable objectives.
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will:
- Assist with preparing monthly management accounts.
- Complete bank reconciliations and post journals, including accruals & prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the Senior Management Accountant with financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Support monthly payroll process.
- Provide cover for the team, including purchase and sales ledger.
- Work collaboratively with teams to maintain strong financial controls.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 2 year’ experience in finance role.
- Skilled in using Xero (or equivalent) and excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external partners
