The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is celebrating the contribution of its charity partner, the King’s Theatre, following almost four years of incredible support.
During this time, staff from the Glasgow venue have raised money for the hospice in a variety of ways. Staff took part in the Kiltwalk and raised almost £2,000, the theatre donated show tickets for a monthly raffle and also provided auction prizes for hospice events. In total the King’s Theatre has supported Glasgow’s Hospice to the tune of £36,196.
Rhona Baillie OBE Chief Executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, said:
“We’re incredibly grateful to all of the wonderful staff at the King’s Theatre.
“Their support over these years has meant that we have been able to continue providing vital and compassionate care to 1200 patients and their families each year.
“As our charity partner, we have formed a close bond with the staff which we truly value and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
James Haworth, Theatre Director at the King’s Theatre, said:
“The King’s has been proud to partner with The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice since 2022.
“The hospice does vital work to provide compassionate care, and we are delighted that our partnership has been able to champion the vast range of activities their team do to support patients and families.
“We were pleased to welcome their team onto the stage of The King’s for a photograph with our Charity Committee to celebrate the success of our partnership.”
As a charity, The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice only receives a small percentage of statutory funding and must fundraise almost £7million each year to keep its doors open. Charity partners are vital in helping to raise this massive amount.
