Giving Something Back
Alan Robertson has been a volunteer at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice since 2018. He began as a ward volunteer, spending time chatting with patients and bringing them a cup of tea. Although stepping into the role felt outside his comfort zone at first, Alan quickly found that he loved it and valued the many meaningful conversations he shared.

Following the pandemic, Alan moved into a reception volunteer role. He now welcomes visitors to the hospice and helps them find their way around the building. Being there for people during what can be a very difficult time in their lives continues to bring him a strong sense of purpose.
Planning for the Future
When Alan needed to update his Will after his original solicitors closed, he tried another service that unfortunately did not work out. He then discovered the hospice’s free Will-writing service and contacted Dallas McMillan from the list of providers. The response was quick, the service was professional and supportive, and his Will was completed within a week.
As someone closely connected to the hospice, Alan chose to leave a gift in his Will. He is clear that there was no pressure to do so. It was simply his way of giving something back, and he now feels reassured knowing everything is in order.
A Gift That Makes a Difference
Gifts left in Wills help us continue caring for patients and their families now and in the future. They play a vital role in ensuring compassionate hospice care remains available for everyone who needs it.
