What You Can Expect From Us

• We will demonstrate our values in all interactions with staff, volunteers, patients and families.
• You will be treated with dignity and respect by everyone at the hospice.
• You will receive the training and information needed to carry out your volunteering role.
• You will be supported in your role and have a designated point of contact for any questions or concerns.
• We will recognise and appreciate your contribution.
• We welcome feedback and suggestions relating to your volunteering experience.
• We will provide appropriate liability insurance covering accidental injury and damage to property.
• You may claim reasonable travel expenses incurred while volunteering. Please speak to your manager for further information.

What We Expect From You

• To carry out your role to the best of your ability and in line with your role description and agreed responsibilities.
• To follow hospice policies and procedures, including those relating to health and safety, data protection, confidentiality and incident reporting.
• To arrive on time for agreed volunteering shifts and provide as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend due to illness or holiday.
• To keep up to date with hospice news and communications relevant to your role.
• To attend volunteer meetings relevant to your area whenever possible.
• To keep your personal details up to date so that our records remain accurate.

This Volunteer Agreement is intended to be binding in honour only. It is not a legally binding contract and does not create an employment relationship between you and The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
