We have special support available to children and young people, their families and guardians, following the diagnosis of a serious illness within the family.
This specific support is vital so that children and young people can begin to understand what is happening around them.
Our community of social workers, counsellors, therapists, the hospice volunteers, and chaplains, offer care in many ways, both at the hospice and at schools.
We offer one-to-one counselling sessions and our Butterfly bereavement group brings children and young people together, within a positive environment, where they can share and explore their feelings through fun games and activities.
More information about our Butterfly Service for families, schools, and health and social care professionals, is available in our hospice services leaflet library along with information about our other services.
If you would like to speak to someone about our Butterfly Service please contact The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
