Ellenor Paton (left) from Dumbarton, is a hospice volunteer

“I worked in banking for 45 years and when I retired five years ago I was looking for voluntary work.

"My sister-in-law told me about the hospice and when I got in touch they asked me to work in the cans collecting department because of my banking experience.

"I’m absolutely delighted to be here. Sometimes I’m called up to reception to meet and greet families or sit with them for a little while.

“I like coming into the hospice to work, it’s very friendly and I feel like I’m giving something back. It’s very worthwhile and you do get a lot out of it.”
