Volunteer Services Manager

Salary: £31,083 per annum

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity located within Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.  

As Volunteer Services Manager, you will be responsible for the recruitment, development, support and retention of volunteers across the Hospice. Working collaboratively with managers, staff and external stakeholders, you will ensure best practice in volunteer management and help create new opportunities for volunteers to engage with our services.

You will play a key role in promoting volunteering within the community, supporting employee volunteering initiatives, organising volunteer events and ensuring volunteers remain informed, valued and engaged.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the recruitment, onboarding and retention of volunteers.
  • Managing volunteer induction, training and development programmes.
  • Supporting staff and team leaders who supervise volunteers.
  • Developing new volunteering opportunities in line with organisational needs.
  • Promoting volunteering through community engagement and events.
  • Maintaining accurate volunteer records and monitoring programme performance.
  • Producing reports and statistics for senior management and Trustees.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and GDPR requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance volunteer engagement.

We are looking for someone who has strong communications, leadership, organisation and planning skills. Builds positive relationships through empathy and effective interpersonal skills to lead a thriving volunteer service.
