Are you an experienced retail professional who thrives on variety, enjoys leading teams, and wants to make a real difference in your community?

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is seeking a flexible and motivated Relief Shop Manager to provide management cover across our network of 17 retail stores. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in different locations, meeting new people, and helping to generate vital income that supports hospice care services.

About the Role

As a Relief Shop Manager, you will step into stores to provide cover during management absences, ensuring shops continue to operate effectively and achieve their sales targets. You'll work closely with volunteers, customers, and donors to create a welcoming shopping experience while maintaining high retail standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the day-to-day operation of hospice shops
• Driving sales and maximising income from donated goods
• Leading, supporting and training volunteer teams
• Maintaining excellent standards of customer service and merchandising
• Ensuring compliance with cash handling, health and safety, and operational procedures
• Supporting stock management, pricing, displays and shop presentation
• Promoting the work and values of the Hospice within local communities.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous retail experience
• Experience managing or supervising a team
• Excellent customer service skills
• Cash handling experience
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• A flexible approach and willingness to travel between stores
• The ability to work independently and use initiative
• A positive attitude and passion for supporting volunteers.
