The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity located within Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.

Bargacree Café in The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is more than a place to eat — it’s a comforting space for patients, families, visitors and staff. We’re looking for a dedicated Café Manager who can deliver outstanding service while helping us generate vital funds for hospice services.

Job Purpose

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience that reflects the gold‑standard care provided across the Hospice.
  • Maximise café profitability to ensure every penny possible goes back into supporting patient care.

Role Dimensions

  • Work as part of a rota between 8:00am and 5:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • Provide hands‑on catering support as needed.
  • Flexibility to work outwith these hours occasionally for hospice events or functions.
  • Oversee all day‑to‑day café operations, including:
    • Monitoring stock and inventory
    • Placing orders
    • Manage budgets, cost control & cash handling
    • Ensuring smooth, efficient service throughout the day

Our café team plays a vital role in creating a warm, friendly and consistent experience for everyone who walks through our doors — including patients and families who may be going through difficult moments. You will:

  • Lead by example to maintain high hospitality standards
  • Coach and support staff to deliver excellent service
  • Foster a positive, compassionate environment for customers and colleagues alike

What We’re Looking For

  • A people‑focused leader with experience in hospitality or café management
  • Someone who thrives in a busy, community‑centred environment
  • A calm, supportive presence who can motivate a team and deliver consistent service
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence managing stock, suppliers and daily operations
  • A passion for delivering great food, great service and meaningful impact
