Who are we? We’re The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, a well-established charity located at 20 Dumbreck Road, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow G41 5BW. We provide specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting, progressive illnesses, and support for their families and carers.

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial and dynamic leader with a proven track record in driving income generation and fostering key relationships. This pivotal role involves spearheading our fundraising efforts, developing innovative income streams, and supporting our strategic and operational goals.

Job Purpose

  • Report to the Head of Fundraising.
  • Lead the Business Development function, driving sustained net income growth to support the Hospice’s operational and strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement a business development strategy, managing corporate income budgets and fostering teamwork within the fundraising team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, creating innovative income generation opportunities and ensuring effective stewardship of key supporters.
  • Enhance the Hospice’s brand awareness and communicate its value as a leading provider of specialist palliative care.
  • Identify and develop a varied portfolio of commercial income streams, ensuring sustainability and long-term financial health.
  • Engage with local businesses and Glasgow based SMEs for support and partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the wider Hospice Team ensuring a strong public image and branding.
  • Responsible for financial targets and business KPIs.
  • Provide a creative and dynamic external focus to identify and develop a range of income generation initiatives beyond existing fundraising and trust activities.
  • Build and utilize networks, developing long-term relationships with key individuals and businesses.
  • Contribute to a new culture and joined up model for income generation across the charity.
  • Identify and develop new income streams spanning commercial, health and social enterprise.
  • Ensure optimum income generation by pursuing potential in all appropriate funding sources.
  • Closely work with the Head of Fundraising and Director of Income Generation/Digital to prepare strategies, objectives, and business plans for new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the senior team in the income generation governance group.
