Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice

Participation

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice provides person-centred and family-focused palliative care and support. Our specialist staff and volunteers are trained to work with individuals and families who are living with a life-limiting or life-shortening terminal illness.

In day services, on the ward, in hospital or in their own home, more than 1200 patients and families are cared for every year.

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice aims to promote a culture where participation from patients, families, members of the public, staff and volunteers forms part of day-to-day planning, developing and delivery of patient-centred services.

Participation means staff and people who use our services working together to create a decision or a service that works for everyone. It recognises that everyone has a valuable contribution to make, which is embedded in our hospice strategy.

We have a participation forum with members including patients, relatives and healthcare workers with a relevant interest in supporting and improving hospice services.
