When a person has been diagnosed with a life-limiting or life-shortening illness, often family members and friends take on the role of carer.
We understand the importance of supporting carers and acknowledge the impact that caring for someone can have on their physical and emotional wellbeing, so The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice offers support for carers in a number of ways.
Our carers’ information and support group meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 12pm to 2pm, here you will meet with other carers and staff.
Our one-to-one counselling service provides support either at the hospice or at home, providing a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice volunteer befriending service helps carers have a short break, offering a volunteer befriender who will come and spend time with the person you are looking after.
The art room offers invaluable opportunities for patients, family members and carers, to learn new creative skills.
If you would like to talk to us about any aspect of our carer support please contact The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
