Turner & Townsend is proud to support the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in the delivery of its new state-of-the-art 16-bedroom hospice at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. We have been with the hospice on every step of the journey so far, working with the team from inception of the new building in 2012 to current commencement of main construction works in September 2016.
We are continually inspired by the passion and dedication of all those involved with the new development. As part of the project team, we are privileged to help, in a small way, to enhance the hospice’s provision of specialist palliative care to the people of Glasgow.
Our team is being guided by Fraser McAlister and associate director Jim McKinstry, who are both highly experienced construction practitioners with long-term relationships with the hospice. As a business, we are active supporters of our local communities, and are committed to help the hospice realise its vision. The company is a member of the 50/10 club, and the Glasgow team have achieved and exceeded its commitment to raise £10,000 towards the build fundraising costs.
Our role has included developing the project delivery strategy, assisting with appointing design team consultants, helping with the building design, identifying and managing all potential project risks, and finding the best contractor to undertake the build.
We are currently providing project management, employer’s agent and CDM (construction, design and management) client advisor services on the project. We are helping and advising the hospice’s director of operations, Anne Hattie, assisting in all aspects of relocating from their current city centre location to Bellahouston Park.
