Over the past 20 years, The Business Lunch has welcomed a fantastic range of guest speakers, including Fernando Peire, Director of The Ivy, Brian Duffy, Chief Executive of Watches of Switzerland Group, The Rt Honourable Brian Wilson, Chairman of Harris Tweed Hebrides and Rupert Soames OBE, former Chief Executive of Aggreko, all of whom have given memorable speeches which were very much enjoyed by our 250 guests.

 

Mark Gallagher, Managing Director, Cosworth Formula 1

We are proud to announce that this year's speaker will be Mark Gallagher. Mark has spent his career working in Formula One motor racing, rising to become a board member of two well known teams, Jordan Grand Prix and Red Bull Racing, before becoming Managing Director of the Cosworth Formula One engine company. Today he runs his own consulting business.

Following his keynote speech, Mark will join host Alison Walker and fellow business professionals Fraser Campbell, Gillian Docherty and Heather Matthews in a panel discussion. There will also be an opportunity for guests to pose questions to the panel.

 

Fraser Campbell, Partner and Head of Family Businesses/Cloud Accounting Lead, Campbell Dallas

A partner in the Glasgow office of leading accountancy and business advisory firm Campbell Dallas, Fraser is responsible for the audit of large groups of companies as well as advising a diverse range of owner-managed businesses.

Leading the firm’s Family Business Advisory team, Fraser takes a particular interest in helping business families to balance the conflicting pressures of family and business life. He also leads Campbell Dallas's Digital Transformation team across the UK, shaping their digital and cloud accounting offering to clients. He is a regular panellist at industry events and is a frequent commentator on financial, regulatory and taxation matters.

Fraser also gained valuable experience early on in his career working overseas with international groups, Canadian and US GAAP, providing transaction support and a spell in corporate banking.

 

Gillian Docherty OBE, Chief Executive, The Data Lab

A computer scientist and graduate of the University of Glasgow, Gillian joined IBM in 1993 and spent 22 years in a variety of roles, rising to become a UK senior executive. In 2015 she was appointed as CEO of The Data Lab, an innovation centre with a mission to help Scotland maximise value from data and lead the the world to a future where data powers scientific progress, economic prosperity and social good.

Gillian is a visiting professor at Robert Gordon University, a TED speaker and was named CEO of the year at the Digital Technology Awards 2017. She was named Digital Leader 2018 for the UK and was placed in the UK's ten most influential people in data by DataIQ. She was appointed an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2019 for Services to Information Technology and Business.

 

Heather Matthews, Managing Director, Little's

As Managing Director of Little's, Scotland's oldest and largest chauffeur drive company, Heather has over 25 years’ experience in the travel industry with particular expertise in transport, event management and logistics. Little’s work with a wide range of corporate and leisure clients in Scotland, as well as organising chauffeur driven cars for clients overseas, a huge growth area for the business, now accounting for around 40% of turnover. Her leadership has led to a number of prestigious awards over the last few years. Little’s won Scottish Family Business of the Year at the Herald Family Business Awards, and more recently Business of the Year at the Scottish Women's Awards. Heather has been a finalist for Female Business Leader of the Year at the Scottish Business Awards and Outstanding Contribution by a Business Leader at the Glasgow Business Awards. She is proud to have been a founding board member of the Scottish Family Business Association and is delighted to be an Ambassador for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
